Nautiskincare is a woman-owned minimalistic skincare small business based in Severna Park, Maryland, founded in April 2026. Let's dive into the whole story!
Growing up, I was just a girl with sensitive skin who felt like she was always mid flare-up. I struggled my whole life with skin issues like eczema and dry skin. Having sensitive skin felt like being at war every single day with my own body — exhausting, painful, and isolating in a way that's hard to explain unless you've lived it. A flare-up could show up out of nowhere, with no idea what had caused it and no eco & hormone-friendly solutions available.
Ouchie, to put it mildly!
I read every label in every store aisle, and I kept finding the same problem: fragrance, preservatives, fillers, wax, water added just to bulk up the jar. Things that either irritated my skin further or did nothing at all except take up space on the label.
Somewhere in all those years of unexplained skin issues I couldn't explain and products that never quite worked, I started to believe I couldn't be the only one. There had to be others out there — desperate for relief, for healthy skin, just for the chance to feel comfortable in their own body and get through an ordinary day without it being a fight.
No lab, no investors, no team — just a stove, a handful of real ingredients, and a lot of trial and error until I made something that actually helped my skin instead of fighting it.
I started sharing it with family and friends who had the same struggles. When they kept asking for more, nautiskincare became a real thing.
Most products in this category are cut with fillers and water to stretch shelf life and margins. Ours aren't. What's on the label is what's in the jar.
We started by designing for the person who reacts to almost everything else on the shelf. That same formula turns out to work just as well for hands and skin worn down by sun, salt, and wind — boaters, dock workers, fishermen, and scuba divers included.
We make what we can actually stand behind, in quantities we can control, packaged in recycled and refillable glass jars and bottles — not mass-produced runs that trade quality (or the environment) for quantity.
The Chesapeake Bay has been my backyard for almost 20 years.
Thanks to my parents (love ya!), my friends and I got to spend our childhood on the water. Learning to drive jetski's, taking out the boat ourselves to Dobbins Island, figuring out how to navigate the waterways of the Severn and Magothy rivers, and venturing across the Bay over to Libbey's. Most of my childhood memories on the Bay include catching fish using our hands with my childhood best friend, Lexi!
As much as people like to grow up and say they don't like where their hometown is, I love it, and it's such an integral part of who I am.
That connection is why giving back to the Bay isn't an afterthought for us — it's built into every sale.
The Triskele is an iconic Celtic symbol, meaning sky, land, and sea. It stands for perpetual motion — always moving forward, always flowing.
I wear this symbol every day to guide me through my life. I hope it inspires you. (:
High-quality certified-organic ingredients shouldn't only exist at luxury prices. We specialize in repairing and protecting skin exposed to the harsh marine environment — while staying affordable and accessible to the community we're part of, including people with eczema and sensitive skin, like me.
nautiskincare is a registered, woman-owned LLC headquartered in Severna Park — a real, accountable small business, not a side project. Every batch is still made in-house, start to finish.
Every sale sets aside a dollar for the Bay. We are working towards a partnership with a local non-profit benefiting the Chesapeake Bay. More info to come!
We source and package with sustainability in mind — recycled and refillable glass, minimal packaging, and we're working toward carbon-neutral shipping.
